Successful communities need the support of their local residents, businesses, community leaders, churches and elected officials. While learning to make the most of this local advantage, a community can grow, teach, and sustain itself. When a business succeeds, that success is often closely tied to the local community and its residents. It is important to have community members become active participants. As a busy business owner, parent, student or whatever your station in life, it can be challenging to squeeze another minute into a hectic day.
By placing a donation with NP&D, you, your company and/or organization are partnering with us to work toward the revitalization of our community. In Allen Neighborhood Preservation and Development Corporation,
you will be associated with one of the New York State’s most respected community development organization, and you’ll give NP&D more opportunities to raise the money needed to fund our community sustainability efforts.

PROMOTE LOCAL BUSINESSES
The Allen NP&D plans to recruit businesses in our local corridor to become a part of a Merchant’s Association. Organizing in such a manner will provide local merchants with a forum to discuss mutual concerns and provide excellent networking opportunities. A strong collective force will allow the merchants to approach City agencies to effect positive change for their businesses and the surrounding community. In addition, we are looking to partner with Minority and Women Business Enterprises (MWBE) who offer training and workshops in the areas of financial literacy, budgeting and estate planning, and home maintenance.
2.
CONDUCT COMMUNITY FOOD DRIVES
During the holidays, we encourage residents to bring in unopened non-perishable canned and boxed foods that can be donated to local food banks. This is a fantastic way to help our community. You’ll only have to set aside a half hour or so to transport the items.
3.
COMMUNITY EVENTS
Businesses can sponsor a participant in a local event or pay to have their business name identified as a sponsor of an event. It can be a great way to show support, especially if you can support your own employees or family member who are participating in such events.
